Replacement chip for HP 9000 (cartridge C8543X). The HP LaserJet 9000 HP cartridge C4583X (30K) cartridge uses a "chip". After the original toner cartridge has emptied, the cartridge monitor will show "toner low" code will be set to YES on the cartridge chip.
